This amazing property is currently owned by the 15th Duke of Hamilton. From Mary Queen of Scots through to the union of Scotland and England, from infamous marriages through to accumulation of amazing collections of paintings, sculpture, furniture and silver, the Hamilton peerage is world famous. After World War II, during which the Duke and his three brothers served in the RAF, he decided that he and his wife, Lady Elizabeth Percy, needed a new home.
